International melange ... the Jensen Interceptor

From 1966 to the early 90s, British Car Company Jensen built the Interceptor (C-V8).

A fascinating melange of Italian conception (the first bodies were built in Italy too, by Vignale), British distinction with its finest leather, carpets and wood interiors, and American muscle with a 383 cubic inch, or 6.3 l, Chrysler V8-engine with some 325 horse power, which made it with a top speed of 225 km/h the fastest four-seater in the world, in the late 60s.
And with the introduction of the Jensen Interceptor FF of 1967, the first four-wheel driven car of the world, the introduction of the worlds first Anti-Lock Brakes in 1969, Jensen added innovation to distinction and style.

But, as so many British car companies, after a couple of thousand cars, a mere 320 of them the FF, the dream was over.

First in 1975, with the companies bankruptcy, and then, after a restart in 1984, in 1992 for good.

To be precise, there was another attempt by different management to start all over again in 1998, but after some 25 cars, the company closed down in 2001. And, at least for my taste, the latest cars never got even close to the original Interceptors C-V8 types and their unique flair.
